The app can be used for elective major procedures in:

Patient registration by a doctor or a registered nurse

At the first preoperative visit, the patient gets registered into the program and gets their own personal account and access to the patient interface.

Patient’s age, BMI, and gender are entered into the system manually or automatically depending on the integration with the EMR or HIS. ECOG score, TUG score, resting heart rate, the use of heart rate changing medication, haemoglobin and the risk analysis index are recorded.

The patient’s Prep4Surg Score is calculated based on the data using an algorithm. All data, including the Prep4Surg Score, is securely transmitted to the central cloud server to generate a risk dashboard and prepare the training program. An individual training program with target frequency, duration and heart rate is created.

Patients do the Training Program

The patient gets access to the Prep4Surg app and is guided through the setup of their training program. This includes answering a quality of life questionnaire, performing the 6-minute walk test, and establishing a weekly exercise plan.

Patients perform exercises at home according to their training program, monitored by a smartwatch. The smartwatch provides instructions based on the and Prep4Surg Score to ensure that they train within the optimal heart rate range as well as frequency and duration of exercises.

After each training session, the smartwatch transmits the training data to the central cloud server. Patient also evaluate their symptoms in the app. This data is used for analysis and feedback. The doctor can review the patient’s progress in the doctor app, and is notified through a push notification if the patient is regularly missing their exercises or exceeding the set heart rate range.

Doctor’s re-evaluation and program success measurement

The doctor`s perform a second risk assessment to compare initial data with post prehab data.
